Marconi Pereira - In love with technology and with people, worried about the destination of Education in Brazil, Marconi decided to invest part of his time in the construction of a new form of communication between people. The TEDx events are forms of communication that bring marvelous ideas together with marvelous people. The ideas have the power of transforming the world and being part of a moment of sharing and reflection is an incredible opportunity to experience the best of human nature. He believes in the combined power of people to transform the present and create a new future.

Marco Brandão - Marco returned to Brazil 4 years ago and ever since, he has felt the need to do something to make the country better. His education in graphics design, his dynamism and curiosity led him to work for four years with publicity in Miami which allowed him to perceive and get to know a bit about American and South American cultures. Afterwards, he had the opportunity to get his MBA in communication and publicity strategies in Barcelona, refining his care with imagery and perceiving the importance of adding value, creating a strong identity for his brands. He lived for a year and 6 months there, which is where he noticed his passion for discovering, understanding and experiencing other cultures. Arriving in Brazil, Marco was hit by the waste of values, of opportunities and resources that at worst stagnate, and at best slow down the development of the country. Marco saw the need to increase his strategic/managerial knowledge and therefore, in a little under a year, completed an MBA in Project Management from Ibmec-RJ. Another thing that he found strange here in Brazil is that all of the foreigners that he meets say that Brazilians always receive them very well when visiting Brazil and he wonders why Brazilians don’t treat their own compatriots with this same sort of respect. When he was invited by Marconi to be a part of the organization of TEDxRio, he loved that idea and ever since dove head first into the project, knowing that this event could be an important piece in reaching his current goal, which is to work with areas involving socio-environmental sustainability.

André Bello - Passionate for innovation, literature, design and technology, the TEDxRio events manifest some of the achievements that André has reached during his career. Follower of a simple and healthy lifestyle, his greatest goods are his wife, children and family. Professionally, he works as a communication and design consultant in the Rio de Janeiro market. He also develops his own projects to join and enhance people, companies, brands, values and riches. And, above all, he fights to leave the world (at least a little bit) better.

Ana Goelzer - Publicist, Anchietan, Grémio supporter, restless. Ana is known for her famous laugh, that, thanks to her friends, made it on to Youtube. She seems to be connected 24 hours a day (by the way, she doesn’t believe in the idea of hours, days and years), she is unstoppable! Daughter of Malú and Luiz Antônio, she learned from them how to look at life from all sides, but mainly from the perspective of justice and respect. She has five siblings and two nephews that she loves, as well has a dog, cat, many friends and ladybugs. Through them, she has had the fortune of meeting various people, ideas and worlds. Curious, involved and sometimes a warrior, when needing to defend causes and friends. To Ana, spreading ideas is worth it. She learned about TED through a link posted on her ex-boss’ Facebook and since then has returned to the site almost every day. In this way, she met Edmour on Twitter, who supports the TEDxVilaMadá who introduced her to Maurício. After exchanging some e-mails, she was determined to bring the TEDx experience to Porto Alegre and thus, TEDxLaçador was born. The name Laçador – the lassoer – is an homage to the symbol of Porto Alegre, to artists by way of their creator: Carangi, to the people in the spirit of Paixão Cortês (inspiration of the Laçador) and the idea of the lasso to capture good ideas. While this process was underway, she observed her friends on social networking sights and chose a group that she could be proud to work with. In this process she has connected people as never before. Actually, connecting people is one of her greatest passions, at TEDxAmazônia she was called a bridge person.

Mauricio Curi - Mauricio is the father of two daughters (Dani, 21 and Bia, 9) and citizen of Vila Madalena in São Paulo, as well as CEO of EDUCARTIS since 2003 and TEDx organizer since 2009. He has been a TEDx Ambassador in Brazil since march, 2012.

Rodrigo Vieira da Cunha - 35 years old, Rodrigo is a journalist that works with themes connected to sustainability. He is a TEDx Ambassador in Latin America and co-organizer of TEDxAmazônia, TEDxSantander, TEDxIlhaGrande, among others. He is PR Director for the LiveAD agency, weekend surfer and father of two boys. He spreads ideas on the blog A Ficha Caiu.
